Tulip Nebula

Sharpless 101 a hydrogen emission nebula in Cygnus. 6000 light years away. Cygnus X-1 appears (from our perspective) to be close to the nebula. Cygnus X-1 is the black hole that Stephen Hawking lost his wager on. Cygnus X-1 is the brighter of the two stars (lower star) in close vertical proximity just to the right of Sh 101 in the image presented here. Image shown here in hubble palette SHO.

All prints on Kodak Endura metallic paper at 300 DPI
