Hoag’s Object

Taken with RC8 telescope @ f/8 unguided using Protrack, QSI 683 mono camera, MyT mount. Luminance exposure was best 100 frames (took 186)x480 seconds, RGB 36 each channel x 240 seconds.

Hoag’s Object is a ring galaxy 620 million light years distant in constellation Serpens, the younger blue stars form a ring around the older core of yellow stars. Unseen here but visible in Hubble images there is another ring galaxy inside this ring.
